What is drug addiction?
Drug addiction is a complex brain disease. It is characterized by compulsive, at time uncontrollable, drug craving, seeking, and use that persist even in the face of extremely negative consequences. Getting addicted to drug is also a form of sucide as it spreads its poison and damages the body slowly.
 Why take drug?
  1. Stress
  2. Low of self-esteem
  3. Misinformation
  4. Friend's influence
  5. Easy access

Signs and symptoms of drug addiction
  • You are neglecting your responsibilities at work, school, or home (e.g. flucking classes, skipping work, neglecting your children) because of your drug use.
  • Your drug use is getting you into legal trouble, such as arrests for disorderly conduct, driving under influence, or stealing to support a drug habit.
  • Your life revolves around drug use. You spend a lot of time using and thinking about drug, figuring out how to get them and recovering from the drug's effects.
  • You also have abandoned activities you used to enjoy such as hobbies, sports and socializing because your drug use.

When your teen has a drug problem:
  • Lay down rules and consequences. Your teen should understand that using drugs comes with specific consequences. Make sure your spouse agrees with the rule and is prepared to enforce them.
  • Monitor your teen's activities. Know where and who he or she hangs out with. It's also important to routinely check potential hiding places for drug such as in backpacks, between book on a shelf or make-up cases.
  • Get help. Teenagers often rebel against their parents but if they hear the same information from different authority figure, they may be more inclined to listen. Try a sports coach, family doctor, therapist, or drug counselor.
